Mada van Gaans’ collections are often inspired by myths around female figures, elements out of nature and influences from other cultures. Mada builds her collection around a story, consisting of different characters. Her designs are feminine youthful, lady like and a divine mix between fantasy, luxury and comfort. Traditional craftsmanship from other cultures are important to her, and she translates these techniques into new designs.

Mada van Gaans graduated from the MA at the Fashion institute Arnhem in 2004. Mada presented her graduation collection during the Haute Couture Week in Paris and did several exhibitions and shows in Paris and New York in collaboration with Dutch Fashion Foundation.

Mada was selected for Robijn Fashion Award 2001 and  ITS#3 Talent Support in Italy. This year Mada was nominated for the Dutch Fashion Awards and won the second price of the IAF Awards in Taipei in Taiwan.
