Jan Taminiau is a romanticist with a passion for authentic materials and techniques.
His work is characterised by a refined, conceptual undercurrent, while never losing sight of the elegant, feminine and wearable form.
You can find this characterisation in the choice of material but also in his perception from what is ugly and what is beautiful. Against the idea that everything that is old is ugly, he shows the beauty of the old things.
The perfect example for this is the postbag collection. From old, used postbags Jan Taminiau made red carpet worthy couture.
In his collections Jan Taminiau uses authentic 18th-century dying techniques and Swarovski-treated embroidery are combined with raw, weathered materials, but also with soft chiffon, silk, tulle and taffeta.

The new collections from his own label, JANTAMINIAU, are presented during the couture week in Paris.
