Amsterdam, September 4rd 2008 - From Thursday 11th of September 2008 until Thursday the 18th of September 2008, the Redlight Fashion Peepshow will provide audience with a unique backstage 'peep' in the different universes of the seventeen Redlight Fashion Amsterdam labels during the 4 Weeks of FreeDesigndom.

Since the start of the controversial fashion initiative Redlight Fashion Amsterdam, replacing some of the ubiquitous ladies of the night with an impressive line-up of Dutch fashion talents, media from all over the globe is keeping a close eye on events.
 
The twenty designers that had been given the unique and exciting opportunity to work, live and display in the notorious red-light district, are flooded with questions on how their work is influenced by this intriguing habitat.
 
The Redlight Fashion Peepshow is a response to this curiosity.
At the opening night at the 11th of September 2008, audience is presented a live fashion peepshow in the windows of the Redlight Fashion ateliers featuring the work that has emerged since the start of the project. Press is invited for the official opening of the Redlight Fashion Peepshow art installation at Mata Hari in the red-light district.
As Jan Taminiau, one of the Redlight Fashion designers, acclaims: “With the Redlight Fashion Peepshow art installation we want to give audience a unique peep in our design processes. The group installation is designed to showcase our seventeen different visions living side by side in the middle of the red-light district.” The modular design of the installation facilitates the aim to export this daring Dutch concept. “We want Redlight Fashion Amsterdam to be far more than a trend,” says Mariette Hoitink HTNK, co-initiator of the project.
